Some journeys are carefully planned. Others unfold through unexpected turns, difficult goodbyes, new beginnings, and moments that quietly change who we are. Mine has been a little bit of both. Architecture was never just a profession for me. It became a way of looking at the world—understanding people, spaces, systems, and the relationship between creativity and responsibility. From my academic years to completing my Master’s in Architecture, every stage taught me something beyond what could be found in a textbook. College was also where I discovered the importance of leadership and participation. Being involved in committees, coordinating events, taking responsibility, and being recognised for leadership activities helped me understand that professional growth is not only about knowledge. It is also about communication, teamwork, initiative, and the courage to take responsibility. My professional journey took me through design, planning, project execution, teaching, and working alongside government professionals and consultants. Each experience added another layer to my understanding of architecture and the built environment. Working with different people and observing how decisions are made at various levels made me realise that architecture can have an impact far beyond the drawing board. There were also chapters that did not go exactly as planned. I have learned that leaving something behind does not always mean failure. Sometimes, it means recognising that a particular path is no longer the right one. Some professional decisions were difficult, but they gave me the opportunity to pause, reflect, and ask myself what I genuinely want to build next. That question led me towards new interests—technology, Artificial Intelligence, BIM, sustainability, research, and the future of architecture. Today, I am interested in exploring how technology can transform architectural practice while keeping human needs at the centre. I want to continue learning, experiment with new tools, and eventually contribute to research that connects architecture with emerging technologies and sustainable thinking. Alongside my professional journey, I have also discovered the importance of creativity outside architecture. Cooking, music, learning the kalimba, creating content, writing, and simply documenting small moments have reminded me that creativity does not belong to one profession. It is a way of living. There have been moments of uncertainty too—about career, education, the future, and where life is ultimately taking me. But uncertainty has taught me something valuable: not every chapter needs to have an immediate answer. Sometimes, we simply need to keep moving. to the person I am My experiences have made me more independent, more curious, and more willing to make bold decisions. I may not have had a perfectly straight path, but every detour has contributed something becoming. And perhaps that is what growth really is—not becoming someone completely different, but continuously understanding yourself better. From architecture to research. From classrooms to professional spaces. From leadership experiences to quiet personal lessons. From uncertainty to discovering new possibilities. This is not a story about having everything figured out. It is a story about becoming. And there are still many chapters left to write.
